One of my favorite aspects of life in the Bay Area is that there are a million different microclimates in the region. It can be scorching hot in the East Bay with fog lingering over San Francisco. I especially love watching the fog drift in from the ocean, blanketing the coast.

hiking
As you will soon realize, I love hiking. I absolutely love it. There is no better way to explore a place than by lacing up the shoes and just walking. Combine that experience with nature, and preferably redwood trees? Then add a January heat wave? Heaven.

exploring
I've lived within a 2 and a half hour drive of San Francisco for basically my entire life, so it always surprises me how little time I spend just enjoying the city. This past Saturday was devoted to wandering the Mission.
